Better Luck Next Time is the first full-length album by Ashtyn Barbaree. This is a collection of songs written between 2018 and 2020. This gritty americana full-length album was recorded at The Studio Nashville (Nashville, TN, USA) w/ respected musicians including Chris Scruggs (of Sierra Ferrell, Loretta Lynn, Kacey Musgraves, Amanda Shires), Jeffrey Clemens (of G. Love & Special Sauce, The Arcs, Dan Auerbach) and Tommy Hannum (of Steve Earle, Wynonna Judd). She creates a unique acoustic sound with a smokey yet silky voice, accompanied with pedal steel, tenor ukulele, piano, baritone, upright bass, guitar, drums and harmonies. Blending elements of folk, americana and indie rock, Ashtyn Barbaree sings about relatable themes, such as forgiveness, finding where you belong, being there for your loved ones and heartbreak.

about
I wrote Rhythm of the Road with Crystal Hariu-Damore (of Ordinary Elephant). It's about the ups and downs of being a full time musician. There are nights where drunk people are yelling at you, then dreamy nights of caring listeners. It's all part of the journey and makes us who we are.
lyrics
Capo 4:
C, Am, F, C
Packing up under the bar lights
Guitar in its case, we’re done for the night
Johnny yelling, “better luck next time”
C, Am, F, C
A lady walked up, buttoning her coat
She said, i just wanted to thank you
“Thank you” for what you wrote
F, C x2 C, E7, F, D, C, G, C
(I said) Thank you stranger for opening your heart
When the rhythm of the road can be so hard
It’ll lift you up, then lay you down
Finding a home from town to town
I’ve found where i belong
Instrumental tag: C, G, C
Instrumental (verse): C, Am, F, C x2
C, Am, F, C
Pulling over under the street lights
Only car on the road, it’s the middle of the night
Should’ve learned my lesson last time
C, Am, F, C
I wake up with the sunrise
Face at the glass, looking inside,
Asking me if everything’s alright
F, C x2 C, E7, F, D, C, G, C
(I said) Thank you stranger for opening your heart
When the rhythm of the road can be so hard
It’ll lift you up, then lay you down
Finding a home from town to town
I’ve found where i belong
Instrumental (chorus): F, C x2 C, E7, F, D, C, G, C
F, C x2 C, E7, F, D, C, G, C
(I said) Thank you stranger for opening your heart
When the rhythm of the road can be so hard
It’ll lift you up, then lay you down
Finding a home from town to town
I’ve found where i belong
