Better Luck Next Time is the first full-length album by Ashtyn Barbaree. This is a collection of songs written between 2018 and 2020. This gritty americana full-length album was recorded at The Studio Nashville (Nashville, TN, USA) w/ respected musicians including Chris Scruggs (of Sierra Ferrell, Loretta Lynn, Kacey Musgraves, Amanda Shires), Jeffrey Clemens (of G. Love & Special Sauce, The Arcs, Dan Auerbach) and Tommy Hannum (of Steve Earle, Wynonna Judd). She creates a unique acoustic sound with a smokey yet silky voice, accompanied with pedal steel, tenor ukulele, piano, baritone, upright bass, guitar, drums and harmonies. Blending elements of folk, americana and indie rock, Ashtyn Barbaree sings about relatable themes, such as forgiveness, finding where you belong, being there for your loved ones and heartbreak.
This CD comes shrink-wrapped, which can be removed and signed upon request.

about
I wrote Grass Stains with Tom West (Australia) over Facebook messenger, then voice memos and google docs. We met at a songwriter summit at The House Of Songs in Bentonville, AR.
lyrics
D#, F A#
I remember growing up
D#, F A#
painting walls and skimming rocks
D#, F, A#, Gm, D#, F, D# F
climbing fences and broken trees, behind the houses where we used to meet
falling down learn how to breathe
Chorus: (DRUMS COME IN HERE)
D#, Gm, Cm, F x4
Getting up, I’ve got grass stains on my knees
Getting tough now, like you won’t believe
Instrumental solo section: D#, F, A# x2
Verse:
D#, F A#
Some days feel like I went astray
D#, F A#
I’m walking roads they’re only getting me half way
D#, F, A#, Gm, D#, F, D# F
I’ll turn around and seize the day, cause what I lost can’t be replaced
I never took the easy way
Chorus:
D#, Gm, Cm, F x4
Getting up, I’ve got grass stains on my knees
Getting tough now, like you won’t believe
Bridge:
D#, Cm, Gm x2
If you could see me now
I’m getting up
If you could see me now
I’m getting tough
Chorus:
D#, Gm, Cm, F x4
Getting up, I’ve got grass stains on my knees
Getting tough now, like you won’t believe
